Mad Swish: Midseason Review

We're in the thick of it! With exactly six weeks down and six weeks to go, it's the perfect time to catch up with our teams and see how everyone is doing! [ 2026 Draft Results and Teams ]

TeamBucketsJP (5-1)

Last season’s runner up has wasted no time proving that a loss is great motivation for future victories. Justin’s team may not have Caitlin Clark to rely on all the time, but there is plenty of other talent up and down the roster, including Rhyne Howard, Shakira Austin, and Janelle Salaun all filling important roles.

TeamBucket is offense first, with slight weaknesses in STL and BLK, but their go-go pace can overrun opponents quickly. If Clark can return soon, there should be no reason why Justin isn’t knocking on the door of another Finals appearance.

Seattlesaoirse (5-1)

Our defending champs are back at it again, tied at the top of the standings off a 5-0 start to the season—their lone loss was WK6 versus TeamBuckets JP.

This is our league leader in PTS and 3PT, and Seattlesaoirse also are very good at AST and STL, which all speak of stellar guard play. Kelsey Plum, Skyler Diggins, 25-year-old rookie Sydney Taylor, and waiver wire pickup Natisha Hiedeman power Saoirse’s very dangerous team.

With another rookie, Awa Fam, rounding into shape, the only thing that could stop Saoirse from also returning to the Finals might be Plum’s injury, or the “when will she return” of Brionna Jones. Still, our champ is going to be hard to take down!

Maddie’s Money Moves (4-2)

This team loves brawl ball, as Maddie’s Money Moves lead the league in both rebounds and blocks. They also lead Mad Swish in PF, which could portend well for the rest of the season.

The beef in the frontcourt has been the trio of Aliyah Boston, Dominique Malonga, and the incredible Aneesah Morrow. The team is balanced from the outside too, with excellent guard play and deep shooting, led by Kayla McBride and Nia Coffey.

Our commish is on a three game win streak and they could emerge as the top seed quite fast, until they then face a gauntlet at the end of the season: Seattlesaoirse, TeamBucketsJP, and Kitron Needs 3PT Support all in a row. Let’s get’em!

Bantam Breeze (4-2)

With their only losses coming against teams higher up in the standings than them, Bantam Breeze is having a playoff worthy season. Are they for real?

Having a soft schedule has helped so far, but having Jessica Shepard emerge as a triple-double threat, along with Carla Leite and rookie Azzi Fudd contributing alongside Paige Bueckers has given this team a free flowing offense that leads the league in assists while also scoring a bunch. Better Games Played could take them up a level, and really lock in a playoff spot.

Kitron Needs 3PT Support (4-2)

Tasked with fighting it out over the team that him out in the playoffs last season, James versus Justin is always a great matchup. Kitron Needs 3PT Support is literal this year, as this team is ranked second to last in three pointers. They are great at STL and REB, while also being very good at PTS and BLKs, but there just isn’t much outside shooting here.

Still, James’ team has the second best PF in the league and a win this week would take them another rung up the standings. With A’ja Wilson, Kiki Iriafen, and a throwback season by former All-Star Natasha Howard, this team is dangerous!

On Cloud 9 in NYC (3-3)

How good is rookie Olivia Miles?! I doubt anyone expected Miles to average 18.6 PTS, 5.6 AST, 4.9 REB while dropping in eight threes in one early June game! She pairs well with Alyssa Thomas to create offensive systems unto themselves. So why is this team only 0.500 though?

It seems like On Cloud 9 suffers from a lack of outside shooting—ranking last in 3PT—despite having Leonie Fiebich and Kahleah Copper throwing them up. Emily Engstler is also the only rim protection around for this team, leaving Hannah searching for answer after last years stellar regular season showing. For this team to get back to the playoffs, the push needs to start now!

Violet’s Revenge (3-3)

Fresh off fify-three points from Marina Mabrey, our other rookie owner has certainly found her groove recently. In Violet’s last three weeks, they’ve lost by 27 points to Maddie’s Money Moves, but won by 55 and 16 in their last two games. And now that fifty-burger has given Robin’s team the midweek edge versus defending champ Seattlesaoirse.

With Mabrey, Angel Reese, Gabby Williams, and Arike Ogunbowale pacing the team, it’s been a nice start to the season for Violet’s Revenge and they’ll look to continue building on that early success with their stellar outside shooting.

Dev-E-I (1-5)

Facing off against the toughest schedule in the league, Devin has been the victim of six opponents averaging 603.67 PA against him—while only putting up 484.0 PF. Compound that with the fact that Dev-E-I has posted the least Games Played so far, and that has resulted in only one win.

Then again, Napheesa Collier is lurking, and her return could change everything. With Breanna Stewart playing at an MVP level, plus Jackie Young as all-around third star, Devin could get a few wins during the back end of the season in a hurry. C’mon Phee, where are you!?!

Swimming with the fishes (0-5-1)

Not having a win doesn’t mean you aren’t making history! In WK3, Jackie and Tanya scored 351 points teach, giving this league our first ever tie! In addition, Coach Jackie has been fighting the good fight, putting up the most Games Played in the league at 25.7 games per week.

However, many of those games are being logged by too many replacement level players. Kelsey Mitchell and Allisha Gray are both doing great, but only ten games from Chennedy Carter has been hurt. Who else can step up from this roster? There is some hope though, as Swimming has crept out of scoring in the mid-300s to getting up toward 575 last week. A proper win is coming!!!

TnT Kaboom (0-5-1)

It’s been a tough rookie season for Tanya, as fans are still waiting for this team to explode. Or at least light a bit of fire. While there are certainly bright spots on the roster—rookie Flau’jae Johnson, the solid passing of Jordin Canada—this team has lacked their superstar, Sabrina Ionescu for most of the season. While Marine Johannes capably filled the hole at guard for the Liberty, there just hasn’t been scoring overall, as TnT puts up the lowest PF per game, at 480.8 each week. Their lone bright spot is a top-four rank in AST, but other than that, Tanya will have to hope that Ionescu can come save this team fast!
