Swish Swish: WK3, Who has the most Top 50 players?

So I'm just starting to use Chat GPT and wondered how it would do kicking out summaries for our fantasy league! I fed it the top fifty players from our current season--by total points averaged--and then had it write little blurbs for each team, focusing on top ranked players from each team. Blurbs are presented by current standings and all analysis and text by AI!

#1: My Name Is (Slim) Sykes (3-0) PF: 2551 / PA: 1448

My Name Is (Slim) Sykes brings a balanced attack with seven players in the Top 50, featuring all-around star Brittney Sykes (43.8) and scoring dynamo Kelsey Plum (43.4). Breanna Stewart (41.3) holds down the fort inside and out, while Kiki Iriafen (33.3) and Gabby Williams (32.8) add rebounding and hustle. Ariel Atkins (30.1) brings perimeter scoring, and Natasha Howard (26.6) adds that defensive edge.

Strategy: This team is built to rack up points with star guards and wings, while also nabbing hustle stats like rebounds and steals. Expect them to deploy versatile lineups to exploit any weakness. Their defensive versatility means they can handle high-scoring matchups and adapt quickly to any opponent’s game plan.

#2: Maddie’s Money Moves (3-0) PF: 2318 / PA: 1736

Maddie’s Money Moves boasts seven players in the Top 50, led by do-it-all star Satou Sabally (45.4) and dynamic big Dearica Hamby (42.6). Kayla McBride (35.6) stretches defenses, while DiJonai Carrington (28.3) and Temi Fagbenle (28.1) crash the boards and contribute hustle stats. Sonia Citron (27.7) brings two-way punch, and Maddy Siegrist (23.2) rounds out the squad with steady scoring.

Strategy: This team leans on rebounding and all-around production to smother opponents. Sabally and Hamby anchor the frontcourt, while the guards rain fire from deep. Their deep roster gives them flexibility to absorb injuries and adjust rotations on the fly, making them a tough out in any matchup.

#3: Phoenix’s Order (2-1) PF: 2490 / PA: 1985

With six players in the Top 50, Phoenix’s Order is led by unstoppable force Napheesa Collier (55.6)—one of the league’s highest scorers. Allisha Gray (43.2) and Rhyne Howard (39.8) add perimeter punch, while Marina Mabrey (34.3) and Kayla Thornton (33.6) keep the stat sheet full. Jessica Shepard (23.7) rounds out the squad with steady production.

Strategy: Phoenix’s Order leans on Collier’s star power and Gray’s consistency. With wing scorers and rebounding depth, they can dominate both pace and hustle stats, making them a dangerous matchup in any playoff scenario. Their perimeter depth means they can adapt to any defensive scheme, forcing opponents to pick their poison on coverage.

#4: On Cloud 9 in NYC (2-1) PF: 1900 / PA: 1709

On Cloud 9 in NYC is perched atop the leaderboard with eight players in the Top 50, including Paige Bueckers (38.3) and Aliyah Boston (34.9). Veronica Burton (33.9), Alanna Smith (28.8), and Natasha Cloud (28.6) round out a deep, versatile squad. Kamilla Cardoso (25.5), Tiffany Hayes (23), and Erica Wheeler (22.8) add scoring and hustle.

Strategy: Balanced scoring and defensive versatility make this team a matchup nightmare. Expect them to dominate hustle stats while leaning on Bueckers’ and Boston’s star power to carry the load. With the most Top 50 players in the league, they can easily rotate lineups and exploit positional matchups for maximum impact.

#5: Dev-E-I (2-1) PF: 1697 / PA: 1789

With four Top 50 players, Dev-E-I leans on versatile forward Azura Stevens (36.4) and steady vet Nneka Ogwumike (35.2). Arike Ogunbowale (33.5) adds perimeter scoring, while Ezi Magbegor (25.1) cleans the glass and defends the paint.

Strategy: Built to grind out wins through rebounding and hustle stats. Expect them to leverage Stevens and Ogwumike for consistent production, while Ogunbowale’s scoring punch can tip tight matchups in their favor. Their frontcourt strength is a key advantage, giving them a rebounding edge in most matchups.

#6: TeamBucketsJP (1-2) PF: 2057 / PA: 2055

TeamBucketsJP brings firepower with six Top 50 players, headlined by stat-sheet stuffer Alyssa ThomasO (41.6) and dynamic guard Skylar Diggins (38.4). Tina Charles (32.0), Kelsey Mitchell (29.8), and Chelsea Gray (29.6) add veteran scoring. Aari McDonald (26.0) provides speed and hustle off the bench.

Strategy: This team’s versatility makes them a dangerous sleeper pick. They’re built to keep games close, using Thomas and Diggins to drive scoring and hustle stats to tip the scales. Their experience in close games means they can handle tight finishes with composure.

#7: Swimming with the fishes (1-2) PF: 1379 / PA: 1958

With just three Top 50 players, Swimming with the fishes is led by breakout star Caitlin Clark (46.3). Brittney Griner (26.1) adds interior presence, and Jewell Loyd (25.1) delivers perimeter scoring.

Strategy: This team rides or dies with Clark’s offensive explosion. They’ll need Griner’s post play and Loyd’s perimeter shooting to support Clark’s high-usage style. If Clark stays hot, this team could punch above its weight in the standings.

#8: Bantam Breeze (1-2) PF: 1858 / PA: 1802

Bantam Breeze features six Top 50 players, led by post duo Angel Reese (37.9) and Jonquel Jones (37.9). Brionna Jones (35.2) adds reliable production inside, while Courtney Williams (31.0) and Janelle Salaun (25.8) round out the lineup. Odyssey Sims (25.5) brings perimeter depth.

Strategy: They’ll look to dominate the paint with strong rebounding and post scoring. Reese and Jones are the anchors, but they’ll need consistent guard play to rise in the standings. Rotating perimeter threats like Sims can help them spread the floor and open up the inside game.

#9: Goldilocks (0-3) PF: 1383 / PA: 2077

Goldilocks might be down in the standings, but they pack a punch with A’ja Wilson (54.6) and Jackie Young (31.3).

Strategy: This squad is all about star power, with Wilson anchoring multiple categories while Young complements her as a reliable perimeter threat. They’ll need to find consistent contributors to support their stars and snap their losing streak.

#10: Lizzie’s Loud Team (0-3) PF: 1230 / PA: 2304

Lizzie’s Loud Team boasts a single Top 50 player—Sabrina Ionescu (38.4)—but what a player she is.

Strategy: They’ll ride Ionescu’s all-around game and hope to build supporting cast contributions through trades or waiver wire pickups. Developing bench production and hitting the waiver wire could be their ticket to a midseason turnaround.
